A Lawyer's Question

A small town prosecuting attorney called his first witness to the stand in a trial--a grandmotherly, elderly woman. He approached her and asked, "Mrs. Jones, do you know me?"
She responded, "Why, yes, I do know you Mr. Williams. I've known you since you were a young boy. And frankly, you've been a big disappointment to me. You lie, you cheat on your wife, you manipulate people and talk about them behind their backs. You think you're a rising big shot when you haven't the brains to realize you never will amount to anything more than a two-bit paper pusher. Yes, I know you."
The lawyer was stunned. Not knowing what else to do he pointed across the room and asked, "Mrs. Williams, do you know the defense attorney?"
She again replied, "Why, yes I do. I've known Mr. Bradley since he was a youngster, too. I used to baby-sit him for his parents. And he, too, has been a real disappointment to me. He's lazy, bigoted, he has a drinking problem. The man can't build a normal relationship with anyone and his law practice is one of the shoddiest in the entire state. Yes, I know him."
At this point, the judge rapped the courtroom to silence and called both counselors to the bench. In a very quiet voice, he said with menace, "If either of you asks her if she knows me, you'll be in jail for contempt within 5 minutes!"

Now, I want to continue about the Individual online Listening and Writing for task 1.

I had choosed one topic on the David Crystal's website. I listened and I can talk about

"WIRED" because wired is the tittle. Wires is important about electrical things.

I can use wires to connect the internet and the computer was now wired in through a

cable into a telephone line. And so after a while it developed a figurative use. Examples,

"Salina is wired" it means she can handle and cope with anything to other works or help

friends solve the problem.

For task 1, i choose one topic about "In Your Dreams"..

Dream meant someone is being unrealistic, very optimistic, and very hopeful. Two senses of the word "dream" and a very general we use is what happens when you're asleep and the sense of day dream or reveris. The most interesting we're now heard the phrase being extended with the pronoun changing.

For the this night, I want to continue about the Individual Online Listening and Writing in Task 1. This task 1 I was choosed one topic about Wicked. When i listened it the title of Wicked, it said the wicked did not mean a bad words. It means 'wonderful', 'great', 'cool', 'splendid'. So, with wicked, tone of voice is the only way to make the distinction between the old meaning and the new meaning, and even that's ambiguous sometimes, so you have to be careful, and pay very careful attention to the context.

The speed dating also is opposite sex among man and woman.

THE STORY ABOUT THE TINY FROGS...

There once was a bunch of tiny frogs, who arranged a running competition. the goal was to reach the top of a very high tower. A big crowd had gathered around the tower to see the race and cheer on the contestants..

The race began. No one in the crowd really believed that the tiny frogs would reach the top of the tower. You heard statesments such as : "Oh, WAY too difficult!! They will NEVER make it to the top" or " Not a chance they will succeed. The tower is too high!"

The tiny frogs began collapsing. One by one..

Except for those, who in a fresh tempo, were climbing higher and higher. The crowd continued to yell : "It is too difficult!! No one will make it!"

More tiny frogs got tired and give up..

But one continued higher and higher and higher. This one wouldn't give up!! At the end everyone else had given up climbing the tower. Except for the one tiny frog who after a big effort was the only one reached the summit!!!

Then all of other tiny frogs naturally wanted to know how this one frog managed to do it!!A contestant asked the tiny frog how he found the strength to reach the goal? It turned out that the winner was DEAF!!!

Hello friends, I want to tell about Kelantan culture. It is my beloved country.

Kelantan is hailed as the cultural haven of Malaysia. It is here, at the cultural centre or Gelanggang Seni that you can witness Kelantan rich cultural heritage. All traditional arts of Kelantan can be seen here, kite-flying, rebana , silat, giant top spinning,wayang kulit and much more.
Silat is an ancient Malay martial art, incorporating a lot of interestingly dramatic stances. This particular style of silatis performed to the increasing tempo of the traditional drums and the wailing of the serunai.
The wayang kulit is an exciting play of lightd, the master puppeteer, or "Tok Wayang" sits behind the back lit semi transport screen, onimating his characters have swivelling arms, which allow them to express themselves through their dramatic hand ations.
Mak yong monted on Saturday night,are enced by Thai tradition and providing a fine balance between singing, dancing, romance and comedy, colourful enoughfor outsides, though hardly fast-moving.
