Assalamualaikum everybody..

Assignment 2 : Individual Online Listening and Writing
Task 1

Today, i've just finished to listened prof. David Crystal's and the topic that i choose is "Get a Life". I am enjoyed this topic. Firstly,when i listen to the prof. David Crystal's recording,i am not understand what he want to tell. But,when i repeat again,i can understand the topic. Then,i read the tapescript and listen again..
In the topic, i found the new words and i would like to share it with my friends..

deragatory = negative and critical
jocular = light-hearted
workaholic = crazy work
obsession = something you can't stop thingking about or doing
unfulfilling = not satisfying
Soap = a TV drama series

i think,this topic is about life. Everyone have a different life.
This familiar old noun 'life', now used widely in the phrase 'get a life!', usually in a derogatory tone of voice like that - 'Get a life, why don't you!' Well, it's said to somebody who the speaker feels is leading an unfulfilling existence, your life is empty, dull, there's more to life than what you're doing, start living!
for my opinion,i got a new listening experience by using this webside.the language quite high. In otherwise, its give me the knowledge to improve my english.

Assignment 2 : Individual Online Listening and Writing
Task 2

For this task,i've choose "Wuss" as my topic..
'He's a wuss.' 'She's a wuss.' It means ineffectual person, indecisive, weak. It's from the United States; it came in in the 1980s.
It has a very unclear etymology. It may be from 'wussy'..
'Stop being a wuss!' - that's the usage you hear a lot these days..
The word seems to be developing. It's become a verb - 'Stop wussing!' 'Ah! He's wussing around!' And I've even seen a new noun, wusser, wussers - 'We're all wussers now!' 'We've all become a complete pack of complete wussers,' says somebody on a website.

there are some new words that i found from this topic..

wimp = that is an ineffectual person
ineffectual = not good at getting things done or not good at a job.
pussy = an affectionate term for a eat.

For my opinion about this topic is sometime the sentences are hard to understand..but i tried to understand it.
Besides, It's become a verb - for examples, 'Stop wussing!' 'Ah! He's wussing around!' And I've even seen a new noun, wusser, wussers..
by the way, i am very happy and enjoy with this webside because i can learn more and found new vocabulary.

that's all for today..see u tomorrow.InsyaAllah.

~ANOTHER WORDS~

Okeys...the more words from David Crystal's are "Phat"..this is a difficult one for speech, 'phat', not 'fat'. ..huhuu..You can usually tell the difference because 'fat' is for animates: people and animals and things, people are 'fat', animals are 'fat'. 'Phat' is used with things or general states of affairs...Well, it sounds like a modern usage, doesn't it? It means, excellent, great, cool..and others...Its also doesn't mean a hip-hop band..~TOO PHAT ~okey!!ahhaahaa...
So...we look at another words..."Chav". It came to the fore as a word in 2005 really, and David didn't remember that he hearing it much before that. It refers to a type of youth, supposedly uncultured, maybe a bit anti-social, perhaps even violent, but certainly marked out, at least from the point of view of the critic, by very bad taste. Chavs are supposed to wear a lot of flashy jewellery, white trainers, baseball caps, sham designer clothes.. But nobody knows who's reactivated it in recent times. It's a noun, 'a chav', 'chavs', and also an adjective - people talk about 'chav behaviour' or 'chav insults' and that sort of thing.

And next...da words "bling"..used to describe diamonds and jewellery and all kinds of showy clothing, accoutrements...and many more..There's a website, 'Think Bling!' defining it as 'anything shiny and worth a good amount of money'. Cars can now be bling...and a shining key-chain also be a "bling-bling"..for example that used at da handphone or bags..

In this website...there are many words..or new words that we can find..so..its help me to understand..n listen for more time..its also have a picture tu make student are easy to understand da words....

~~thats all~~

~ASSIGNMENT 2 : ~

For individual online listening and writing..i've done it just now..emm..the word that i found is wicked!It means 'wonderful', 'great', 'cool', 'splendid'.
It came into English from United States' black slang in the 1980s or maybe earlier...It was part of a trend which goes back decades to use bad words to mean good concepts, or the other way round. ..
Then, the word Wicked it's mainly used as an adjective in front of a noun..So with wicked, tone of voice is the only way to make the distinction between the old meaning and the new meaning..
When I heard thiis words...suddenly I will remember that characters of "Wicked Queen" in our drama...- Snow White-....hehehehe..

Submit My Assignment 2 ( Task 1 )

Assalamualaikum madam and all my friends...

Today i would like to share my opinion about what i have done for assignment 2 : individual online listening and writing, task 1. Actually i'm very agree with nazwan opinion. This is because i had choosed the same topic like nazwan on the David Crystal's website. The topic is about the "Cell".
After i listened, i understand this task is about the mobile phone technology or in the United States people say in a different term emerged "cell phone", short for cellular phone. I was listened for many times to Prof. David Crystal's recording, and then i read the tapescript an i got new vocabularys while i was read this topic :
1. tricky >>> adj ; difficult to do or deal with ( a tricky situation )
2. synchronise >>> verb ; to make sth happen or work at the same time or speed
3. monastery >>> noun ; a place where men ( monks ) live in a religious community
So that, my opinion about Cell Phones are everywhere and their use is growing. Exactly what is a cell phone and why the name "cell"? Basically a cell phone is a radio telephone, but why didn't we have them years ago? The answer lies in the rapid rise of digital computers and very small and powerful microprocessors. One of the most important advantages of microprocessors is their ability to do very complicated operations with high reliability. Because of this cell phones are possible today. Just a few years ago they were impossible.
That's all...enjoy our weekend...
But don't forget, tomorrow we have presentation for our Project Work...

GooD LucK to All My Friends!!!!!...........

David Crystal

Now, I want to continue about the Individual online Listening and Writing for task 1.I had choosed one topic on the David Crystal's website. I listened and I can talk about "cell".

In this task about mobile phone or cell phone. Mobile phone technology came in few time and immediately shortened. Mobile phone became ' mobile' only now.In United State diffrent known it's 'cell phone' for cellular phone.

Other some people spell it as two. One word spelling got eighteen million and the two spelling got a hundred and 35 million hits also people shortened the phrase to 'cell'.

In United Kingdom this usage are grown up and over the part of the world. One word we found and i refer dictonary the shortened that mean: if you shortened an event or the length of time that something last's or if it shortened, it does not last as long as it would otherwise to or as it used to do.

My conclusion is, today mobile or cell phone will make important thing for poeple for comunicated to friends or important things.
